It’s Apple Week at Eureka!
Apple Week at Eureka
The week of September 23rd- 27th, Kindergarteners at Eureka Elementary School celebrated “Apple Week.” The week kicked off with a visit from the Charlotte County Extension Office. Miss Darla Marks, Charlotte County Extension Agent, and volunteers presented a program featuring the apple tree cycle, apple tastings, making applesauce, and even picking apples! We also learned about the legend of Johnny Appleseed (or John Chapman), did apple paintings, made stained glass apples, sorted, graphed and patterned apples, read apple books, made mini apple pies, and at the week’s end, had our own “apple foods” tasting party. One thing is for sure-Eureka’s kindergarten students love apples!
